Merry Christmas – Important Dates & News

Dear Parents and Students,

As we approach the end of a wonderful and very busy year at the Music School, we wanted to take a moment to share some important updates, celebrate our students’ achievements, and wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

A Year of Fantastic Performances

What an exciting year it has been! Our students have taken part in several memorable events, including:

  • The Gatehouse Show in April

  • The Summer Performance at St Mary’s Church in July

  • The Christmas Tree Festival at St Mary’s in December

We are incredibly proud of every student who took part and helped make these events so special.

Looking Ahead – Performance Updates

After 10 consecutive years of our annual Gatehouse Show, we will be taking a break in 2026.

However, we are excited to confirm that the Gatehouse Show will return on Sunday 14th March 2027 – definitely a date for your diaries!

Our next live performance will be on Sunday 19th July 2026 at St Mary’s Church, featuring solos and small-group performances. We look forward to showcasing the fantastic talents of our students.

Exam Success

2025 has been our busiest exam year to date, with over 100 examinations completed across Rock School, Trinity College, London College, and ABRSM. Congratulations to all students for their hard work and dedication.

  • Recorded exams taken this half term will be uploaded on 15th December.

  • Trinity exam entries: Please look out for an email directly from Trinity with confirmation and next steps.

  • We are planning another Rock School face-to-face exam session at the Music School during the spring term. Further details will be shared when we return in January.

Christmas Break – Term Dates

Our final day of lessons before Christmas will be Sunday 21st December.
We will reopen on Monday 5th January.

New Teacher & Lesson Availability

Due to high demand and all current teachers being fully booked, we are pleased to announce new Sunday morning spaces for one-to-one Piano and Keyboard lessons with our newest team member, Oliver.
We’re delighted to welcome him to the Music School!

We are also thrilled to welcome our new vocal teacher Michelle, who joined us this half term on Thursdays. All available vocal lesson spaces with her have already been snapped up, but we do have a waiting list for future vocal opportunities.
Please get in touch if you’d like more information or to book a taster lesson.

Remember, we offer a discount for a second course or additional family member joining us for lessons.

Illness and Attendance Reminder

In the event of illness, please follow usual school guidance regarding lesson attendance.

Charity Donations – Hearts and Hands of Stafford

Thank you so much for the generous donations already received.
We are once again collecting new gifts for adults, children, and pets to support Hearts and Hands of Stafford.

A donation box is available in our reception area, and we can accept contributions until Sunday 14th December.

All items will be delivered to the charity the following week.

Merry Christmas

Thank you for your continued support throughout this year.
We wish all our students and their families a restful Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year.
See you in 2026!

Warmest wishes,

Laura and the Music School Team
